Rogozin Warns Against Complacency About Ukraine

This article is worth reading. It's in Russian, but here is a translation.

Senator Rogozin: reports about the weakness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fake

The head of the Tsar's Wolves, senator from Zaporozhye Dmitry Rogozin, told Bloknot that all reports about the weakness of the Ukrainian army and the lack of soldiers are fakes that were thoughtlessly picked up by the Russian media.

Rogozin recalled that Russian troops continue to need weapons, including that the Russian Armed Forces lack attack drones.

“I’m annoyed by the lulls flowing from all sorts of talk shows on the topic: “Ukraine will soon run out of soldiers,” “The West is tired of feeding crests,” “Trump will come soon and everything will end,” “Western technology is crap,” Rogozin said.

I would like to responsibly declare the irresponsibility of those who spread lies about our collective and extremely dangerous enemy. The hope that the other side will run out of weapons and soldiers is a most dangerous self-deception, and those who spread it are either boastful morons or sent agents whose goal is to disintegrate the unity of our front and rear.

The war that we are waging against the most technologically advanced Western alliance in the world and the ideological Ukrainian prostitute they hired, who does not regret throwing her children into the fire, is the most difficult test for our entire nation and government.

And, apparently, not everyone passed this test; rotten people showed up in important places. Therefore, we must understand that no one will help us in this fight except ourselves and our army. And this army is fighting in great tension, sometimes experiencing a lack of modern military-technical responses to many threats, including the enemy’s superiority in attack drones.

This is what our propagandists should be talking about, and not clicking their beaks in victory. We need the truth, not sugary propaganda."

Monday Night At The Movies: "The Wind and the Lion" (1975)

Dear Gagglers:

Monday is, and has always been, a profoundly depressing day. That's why we have decided to add a little bit of fun to it.

On Monday, April 6, we are holding another film screening. Gagglers can watch a movie and, as they do so, offer comments, random thoughts, aesthetic observations and critical insights in the Live Chat.

We will be screening another runner-up in The Gaggle's "Diplomats and Negotiators" poll: John Milius's "The Wind and the Lion," starring Sean Connery and Candice Bergen.

The screening starts at 3 p.m. sharp.

More Leftie Than Thou
"Jacobin" Magazine Celebrates A Strike Against Ol' Blue Eyes

Here at "The Gaggle" we have very little time for the "more Leftie than thou" school of thought--that's the approach to life according to which the only thing that matters is whether you take the right position on every issue under the sun from Abortion to Zelensky. No one in the world meets the exacting standards of this school of thought; any Leftie leader anywhere is always selling out to the bankers and the capitalists. The perfect exemplar of this is the unreadable Jacobin magazine.

The other day I came across this article from 2021. It's a celebration of trade union power. And not simply trade union power, but the use of trade union power to secure political goals. Of course (and this is always the case with the "more Leftie than thou" crowd), this glorious, never-to-be-forgotten moment on the history of organized labor took place many years ago--in the summer of 1974 to be exact. Yes, almost half a century has gone by since that thrilling moment when the working-class movement of Australia mobilized and prepared to seize the means of production, distribution and exchange.

Well, not quite. Organized labor went into action against...Ol' Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board, the Voice; yes, Frank Sinatra. Why? What had Sinatra done? Sinatra was certainly very rich, and he owned a variety of properties and businesses. But if the Australian trade union movement were, understandably, searching for the bright, incandescent spark that would finally awaken the working class from its slumber there were surely richer, greedier, more dishonest, more decadent, above all more Australian individuals it could have discovered. Australia was never short of them. Rupert Murdoch immediately springs to mind. Why Sinatra?
