Statement from the Chairman of the 14th Congressional District Republican Party

The 14th Congressional District Republican Party issues the following statement in full and unwavering support of our duly elected Representative, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Congresswoman Greene has consistently demonstrated steadfast commitment to the citizens of Northwest Georgia. She has served with honor, conviction, and uncompromising dedication to the principles that define both our district and our nation.

As a woman of faith and a devoted mother, Congresswoman Greene has been a tireless advocate for the sanctity of life, the right to free speech, and the protections guaranteed under the Second Amendment. She has been a strong voice for free and fair elections, for strengthening American families, and for ensuring that American taxpayer dollars are used to advance American priorities, not foreign conflicts or international initiatives that offer no clear benefit to the people she represents.

Her America First, America Only approach reflects the deeply held values of the citizens of the 14th District. Congresswoman Greene has consistently emphasized that federal resources must support American workers, American communities, and American infrastructure before being allocated abroad. This position, rooted in common sense and loyalty to her constituents, has earned her broad and enduring support throughout Northwest Georgia.

Recent national criticism directed at Congresswoman Greene does not change the fundamental truth that she serves at the direction of the people of this district. While the President of the United States represents the nation as a whole, Congresswoman Greene represents the people of Northwest Georgia, and she has done so with clarity, resolve, and integrity. Her willingness to speak candidly on behalf of her constituents, even in the face of political pressure, underscores her courage and her fidelity to her oath.

The 14th Congressional District Republican Party expresses its deep appreciation for Congresswoman Greene’s continued service and steadfast leadership. We remain confident in her ability to represent our district with honor and conviction.

On behalf of the people of Northwest Georgia, we extend our prayers, our support, and our gratitude to Congresswoman Greene.
We stand with her today, tomorrow, and for as long as she continues to serve this district and uphold its values.

In Freedom,

Jim Tully
Chairman
Georgia Republican Party
14th Congressional District

The Gaggle Music Club: Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 In E Minor

This week’s selection for The Gaggle Music Club is Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64.

Tchaikovsky began working on the Fifth Symphony in 1888, at the height of his fame as a composer. His ballets (Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty), operas (Eugene Onegin) and symphonies had already established his reputation in Russia and abroad.

Traveling extensively, Tchaikovsky studied European orchestral styles and techniques. This is evident in the Fifth Symphony, with its Brahmsian symphonic architecture and cyclical recurrence of themes. The symphony's lush harmonic language and emotional expressivity also show traces of Wagnerian chromaticism and Russian lyricism.

With expressive woodwinds, lyrical string passages and dramatic brass climaxes, Tchaikovsky's orchestration in the Fifth was far richer than it had been in his earlier symphonies.

The symphony is built around one short fate motif that changes character across the movements. Tchaikovsky introduces the fate motif in the first movement. It ...

TG 2014: Trump Meltdown: Is This The End Of MAGA?

George Szamuely and Peter Lavelle discuss President Trump's unhinged rant against one of his most loyal acolytes, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and wonder whether this, along with his bizarre Laura Ingraham interview, portends the death of MAGA.

More Leftie Than Thou
"Jacobin" Magazine Celebrates A Strike Against Ol' Blue Eyes

Here at "The Gaggle" we have very little time for the "more Leftie than thou" school of thought--that's the approach to life according to which the only thing that matters is whether you take the right position on every issue under the sun from Abortion to Zelensky. No one in the world meets the exacting standards of this school of thought; any Leftie leader anywhere is always selling out to the bankers and the capitalists. The perfect exemplar of this is the unreadable Jacobin magazine.

The other day I came across this article from 2021. It's a celebration of trade union power. And not simply trade union power, but the use of trade union power to secure political goals. Of course (and this is always the case with the "more Leftie than thou" crowd), this glorious, never-to-be-forgotten moment on the history of organized labor took place many years ago--in the summer of 1974 to be exact. Yes, almost half a century has gone by since that thrilling moment when the working-class movement of Australia mobilized and prepared to seize the means of production, distribution and exchange.

Well, not quite. Organized labor went into action against...Ol' Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board, the Voice; yes, Frank Sinatra. Why? What had Sinatra done? Sinatra was certainly very rich, and he owned a variety of properties and businesses. But if the Australian trade union movement were, understandably, searching for the bright, incandescent spark that would finally awaken the working class from its slumber there were surely richer, greedier, more dishonest, more decadent, above all more Australian individuals it could have discovered. Australia was never short of them. Rupert Murdoch immediately springs to mind. Why Sinatra?
