As the dollar’s reserve currency status diminishes, so does our ability to tax the world by creating more money.
When reserve status is lost, maintaining current spending levels and servicing the debt will be even more painful for Americans who will bear the full inflation tax.

Trump has it backwards. The U.S. doesn’t subsidize the world; the world subsidizes the U.S. The dollar’s reserve-currency status allows us to live beyond our means. Soaring debt, tariffs, and military threats jeopardize that status. When it’s lost, economic collapse will follow.

BIG: Leaked Danish defense documents reveal that the United States quietly sought sensitive information on military installations, ports, and airbases in Greenland without informing Copenhagen.
Danish authorities viewed the move as alarming, fearing it could relate to U.S. contingency planning for pressure—or even military action—over Greenland.
The Danish government and military leadership were immediately alerted.

US Congress map showing US bases across Europe.
Many of these installations are not meant solely to “protect” Europe; rather, they are primarily designed to enable US power projection toward the Middle East and Africa.
For US security, Europe matters far more than Greenland

BESSENT: EUROPE TOO WEAK, US MUST TAKE GREENLAND
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said President Donald Trump will not back down from acquiring Greenland, arguing Europe is too weak to ensure its own security.
In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Bessent dismissed EU threats over tariffs and said Trump is using emergency powers as strategic leverage. Trump has announced 10% tariffs on eight European countries starting February 1, rising to 25% in June unless a deal to purchase Greenland is reached.
Bessent said Trump’s push is driven by Arctic competition, missile defense plans, and Europe’s past dependence on Russian energy. He rejected claims this would harm NATO, saying European leaders will ultimately accept U.S. security leadership.
