Logistics in Ukraine (2022–present)13h
What is President Zelenskyy’s motive for visiting Serbia and endorsing Belgrade’s opposition to Kosovo’s independence? Given Serbia’s ties with Russia, isn’t Zelenskyy legitimizing a fundamentally pro-Russian and anti-NATO position?

Until today, Kosovo was one of the staunchest supporters of Ukraine in Europe. Not anymore.

Kosovo sent military equipment to Ukraine, including armored vehicles and artillery ammunition. Although it is the second-poorest country in Europe, it has given shelter to Ukrainian refugees. There are Ukrainian kids in Kosovo now who, after four and a half years in the country, fluently speak Albanian.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are training their deminers in Kosovo’s Mine Action Center, which is run by my friend Artur Tigani. You often see Ukrainian soldiers arriving at or leaving Prishtina Airport. My friend Armend is one of several Kosovars who are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Belgrade, on the other hand, is, after Belarus, Russia’s biggest ally in Europe. Its capital, Belgrade, is full of Russian flags and pictures of Putin.

Kosovo imposed the toughest sanctions on Russia. Serbia? None. They are actively helping Russia to circumvent these sanctions.
This flags hangs in the city center of Kosovo's capital Prishtina. Zelenskyy was revered there. The people feel deceived, not only in Kosovo but also in Croatia, Slovenija, and Bosnia.

Serbian soldiers are fighting for Russia, and during the Kosovo War, Russians were fighting for Serbia.

Last but not least, there are hundreds of diplomats, journalists (CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, for example), artists, and intellectuals (Bernard-Henri Lévy or Slavoj Žižek) rallying for Kosovo.

What Zelenskyy did by declaring that Kosovo is still a part of Serbia was diplomatic suicide and extremely stupid. It was his naive belief that Serbia might send a few hundred more Grad 122mm missiles or Mi-8 helicopter parts to Ukraine.

Or maybe it was to secure him a safe haven when all the corruption scandals around him finally catch up with him.

In the span of only a few days, Zelenskyy has managed to alienate a lot of his Western supporters: first, he cozied up to Trump again, then he allowed the horrible, horrible Laura Loomer into the country, and now this.
A Serbian Facebook user expressing his joy over Zelenskyy's latest remarks.

The fact that he practically destroyed Ukraine’s drone acquisition program by firing Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov just fits into his latest performance.

Meanwhile, Kyiv gets pounded by Russian ballistic missiles on a nightly basis. The Serbs got $150 million worth of Russian weapons and are now enjoying Zelenskyy’s support for their reconquest of Kosovo, for another war in the Balkans.

The sooner Zelenskyy goes, the better for all of us. Not only for Kosovo, but also for NATO, the West, and especially for Ukraine.

BREAKING

Another likely Russian terror attack on EU territory

A large drone carrying significant amounts of explosives has exploded on Bulgarian territory just 200 m from a vital compressor station of the Trans-Balkan pipeline which supplies Ukraine with Azeri & Greek (LNG) gas

innit funny how all of these so-called attempted catastrophic attacks always fail in the nick of time / last second / last 100 m?

The Russians have concentrated three rings of air defense around Moscow. To create such a strong defensive shield, they had to pull all their air defense systems from every corner of their vast territory. For Moscow, and to a lesser extent for St. Petersburg.

But no matter how much air defense you have, it runs out of ammunition anyway, and we will still find technologies to respond to them so that they feel it. After they began striking our logistics, we found another logistics operation and responded. Their losses there are staggering – one trillion rubles. It was a very successful operation by Ukrainian forces. It involved the Armed Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Today, we operate jointly when carrying out the relevant deep strikes and mid-range strikes.

More Leftie Than Thou
"Jacobin" Magazine Celebrates A Strike Against Ol' Blue Eyes

Here at "The Gaggle" we have very little time for the "more Leftie than thou" school of thought--that's the approach to life according to which the only thing that matters is whether you take the right position on every issue under the sun from Abortion to Zelensky. No one in the world meets the exacting standards of this school of thought; any Leftie leader anywhere is always selling out to the bankers and the capitalists. The perfect exemplar of this is the unreadable Jacobin magazine.

The other day I came across this article from 2021. It's a celebration of trade union power. And not simply trade union power, but the use of trade union power to secure political goals. Of course (and this is always the case with the "more Leftie than thou" crowd), this glorious, never-to-be-forgotten moment on the history of organized labor took place many years ago--in the summer of 1974 to be exact. Yes, almost half a century has gone by since that thrilling moment when the working-class movement of Australia mobilized and prepared to seize the means of production, distribution and exchange.

Well, not quite. Organized labor went into action against...Ol' Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board, the Voice; yes, Frank Sinatra. Why? What had Sinatra done? Sinatra was certainly very rich, and he owned a variety of properties and businesses. But if the Australian trade union movement were, understandably, searching for the bright, incandescent spark that would finally awaken the working class from its slumber there were surely richer, greedier, more dishonest, more decadent, above all more Australian individuals it could have discovered. Australia was never short of them. Rupert Murdoch immediately springs to mind. Why Sinatra?
